It's exciting, challenging, easy to learn since the  different black defences have a personality of their own and it is both educational  (you'll learn a lot about structure vs material and material vs time) and practical  since you only need one opening against 1 - e5.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The downside is that you really must know your stuff or you may end up on the  wrong side of a miniature.
